After a week of absence, I'm back the office at last. Last week I went down with high fever and a huge carbuncle on my face that is very, very painful and anoying. I consulted with two doctors what happened with me and both of them confirmed that it was an infection brought up by shaving which I often do. It was the worst sickness I had for the past 3 years I guess. My fever goes up and down, in fact I chilled more than three times. The carbuncle covered half of my lower lip which made it very hard for me to eat or drink. After 3 days of medication, my sister's doctor friend decided that it's already developed and she can start draining the pus by pricking it. The amount of pus collected is too much that I consumed all the gauze on her clinic. I want to throw up now.....

Lessons learned: First, have your own razor for shaving. Second, use a shaving cream or any safe lubricant that will soften the hair prior to shaving. You need it so that you can avoid shaving the same area over and over again. Then do not forget to put after shave lotion or cream to avoid INFECTION and also for you to smell nice.. And if ever you get sick for whatever reason, make sure the one you love is right beside you... You'll feel better easier and faster, take that from me.

I already got my IELTS result and I scored 8. Yipee!! haha.... Now what's next? I don't know, I just wish everything will just fall into its proper places and by that time I'll be very, very happy. :-)

Yahu!!! I'm finished with the written part of the IELTS exam.. yes!!! One more to go, the speaking part, and that will be on Wednesday afternoon. Hope I can make it.

What's with the title? Well, tomorrow is the first part of my IELTS examination. And I cannot describe what I am feeling right now. I have not been to this kind of exams before. I HOPE that I can overcome the pressure and PASS this exam, for this will clear up some problems I have.

Uric Acid. Total Cholesterol. This two measurements of a healthy lifestyle is giving me problem this days. Well I had my blood taken 3 weeks ago on a chem laboratory and they found out that I have high amounts of those two. What makes it worst is that the foods that you should avoid on one being recommended on the other. I took a second opinion from Medicare and they asked me to take the blood exams again. On the second test, the cholesterol level went down by few points and is on a normal level now, but the uric acid remains high. So now I have to take medications to stabilize my uric acid content. Bye peanuts, legumes, whole wheat breads, bean sprout.

I haven't been to the gym for a while. It's because of the tight schedule I have and I can't squeeze any time for it anymore. I hope next week will be fine and easy, so I can resume my workouts.

It's Saturday, and I'm still at the office, working. No choice, deadline is near and I'll be on leave next week.

Anyways, I'm always been a big fan of David Blaine, and I came across this video on the internet and it's totally shocking.

Do you still remember the soda drink named "Fanta" which came out around the early 90's? For those who are not familiar with it, it is a soda drink that comes in a variety of flavors: Lemonade, Apple, and a lot more. I wonder if it still exists in the market nowadays..

I'm (me) Back!

I arrived last Saturday from Putra Jaya, Malaysia where I attended a week-long training on an Ericsson PABX switch that we actually don't have. Waste of time? Nah.. It was a very rewarding experience. I met fabulous people and the place is very, very nice. The hotel where I stayed is interconnected to a theme park and a shopping mall. Cool isn't? In fact, I have no idea that Malaysia was that beautiful. When I was there I met and hang around with my Thai friends, Sonichai and Kulyot, a manager and assistant manager respectively of their company. The Australian trainor, Phil, was very informative and I learned a lot from him, some are related to the course, majority are not :-). I promised myself that I'll be back there for a vacation some other time. I got some pictures too.... :-)

Today, as I ready myself for another long day in the office, my cellphone alarmed and as I check it out, it was a reminder that today is the 1st year anniversary of my grandmother. It was exactly 1 year since I last cried. :-) So maybe later we will have a small get together with the rest of the family to solemnize her death anniversary.

Whew! I have not visited my page for a soo long, for I have been busy with my job and my dream (the land of milk and kiwi). But now I think is a great time to update and to relax as well.

Early this day we went to Malacanang to meet with Peach's aunt, an assistant to the First Gentleman. We arrived there on time, but the PSG refused our entry to her office because both of us wear jeans and it was not allowed. So they just held us on the waiting area. She sent her assistant to facilitate our request. As we prepare a letter to the first gentleman, we were puzzled with the volume of people waiting in the Malacanang grounds. That is when we heard that Team Everest and Leo Garduce will be on the vicinity for the president will award them for their accomplishment. After a while her aunt asked us to join her in attending the awarding ceremony. Wow! I was thrilled for this will be the first time that I will see our beloved president GMA in person. The celebration was just short, then comes the photo-ops. Using my poor Nokia 6230 I took pictures of Madame President, Leo Garduce, Team Everest (I forgot their names, sorry), Peach and Mike Defensor, Peach with Jiggy Manicad and a lot more. I SHOULD have a picture with Dyan Castillejo, but Peach refused. I SHOULD have a shot with Leo Garduce, but my phone bugged and failed to save our picture. Maybe it's God's will, for it is his moment and if somebody else see his picture with me they might lose interest on him :-). After a couple of minutes we were able to get our request. We didn't have any idea that our simple plan of visiting her aunt will be this exciting!

On Sunday, I will be flying to Malaysia to attend a week-long training on a new PBX switch. But prior to that I have to accomplish an online training first, for that is what they say on the course syllabus. One problem is the access to the site is not yet available to us, and I only have 3 more days to study and be familiar with it. So hopefully I will be able to complete it before the week ends.

Time flies very fast. From this point forward will be the most crucial three months of my life. Make it or break it. I have to be focused, dedicated and determined or else I lose it all. I wish all the Gods to help me.

Eto ko ngayon sa office, nakikinig ng full albums ng System of a down. Sobra kasi antok ko, imagine 5 am na kami nakauwi (workmode) tas ang hirap matulog sa umaga, pinaghalu-halong init, ingay, makukulit na pamangkin, argh!! Kaya eto ko nagpapagising by listening to their songs...

Ever heard of Gospel of Judas? Nakita ko lang link sa inq7, at eto ung link sa National geographic. eto pa. Di ko pa cya nababasa ng buo, pero parang totoo ah.. Sabagay madali naman talaga akong mauto e.

Yung mga may mp3 pla ng "My Tender Bear" ng Kamikazee, penge.. :-)

Yun lang, happy weekends. Huh bawal pla kumain ng karne pag friday, sus e pano kung yun lang ang pagkain na available? :-)

Sabi nga ni Robin, "its nice to be back!". Masyado kasi akong naging busy sa mga nagdaang araw e, kakaya di makapag update. :-) pero ngayon habang nagrereboot ang napakabilis kong test server e mag blo-blog muna ako.

Hay, ang gulo sa pilipinas. "Fool"litika pa rin ang umiiral. Syet. Ang gulo rin sa bahay, ikaw na tumira sa tabi ng ginagawang 6-storey building, imagine gaano kaalikabok. Syet ulit. Ang gulo sa office, power trip yata si boss. Baka matapat sakin ung bote na ginagamit sa truth or consequence ako naman ang mapagtripan. Ssyet na naman. Ang gulo ng buhay ko, feeling ko paulit-ulit-paulit-ulit. Parang wla ng growth, sa career, kasi panay laki ko e hehe... Hay i need something or someone (preferred: someone ) to motivate me para sipagin ulit sa pagtatrabaho.. Nabasa ko na to e, yung mga prone daw sa so-called "burn-out" e yung madalas mag extend ng oras sa pagtatrabaho. E ganun ako, di sanay umuwi ng maaga, e kasi sa hapon plang ako nag start mag trabaho ung umaga petiks lang kakatamad pa e. :-) Syet.(muntik ko na makalimutan). Lord, ung birthday gift ko kelan mo ba bibigay? or ibibigay mo ba? Sana ung news na nareceive ko kahapon e first base na ng gift na hinihingi ko. hay...

Ang cute pla ng asong "Dashound" no? wla lang, pag nagka extra money ako bibili ako nun kaysa sa celfone. Nakakatuwa kasi, ang liit nya pero ang bigat. siksik ba.

Baon Mode

Recently lang, nag start ako magbaon. Wala lang, for a change ika nga. Dati, kahit noong estudyante blues pako, ayaw na ayaw ko magbaon, kasi:

* Nakakahiya sa mga kasama mo. Iisipin nila pinagbabaon ka pa ng parents mo. Parang di ka-"in" pag nakabaon ka.
* Di na mainit ang pagkain.
* Tamad akong maghugas ng baunan.
* Wala akong maibaon. tanghali na magsigising tao samen, so wlang nagluluto sa madaling salita.

E ngayon, bigla ko lang naisipan, kasi may microwave na sa office (wow improving klap! klap!), tapos nauso na din ang mga microwable food containers (microwavable=disposable, so wala ng hugasan yahoo!!) . Pero, ang pinaka-pinaka reason bakit ako nagbabaon. Simple. Gusto ko magtipid e, feeling ko isa to sa mga paraan para makaipon. Tsaka daming gastos this past months, kelangang makabawi muna :-)

Sa Administrasyon:

Hayan ayus na ha pinatawad na namin ang pandaraya nyo sa eleksyon, pruweba dito
e di kami umaatend sa mga panawagan ng people power, kaya sana naman gantihan
nyo kami ng magandang serbisyo at magaling na pamumuno at malaking bawas sa
kurakot naman please para kahit papano maramdaman naman namin na may
napupuntahan ang binabayad naming buwis.

Saka Madam GMA, step down ka na pag parliamentary na tayo sa 2007, tignan mo,
i-announce mo mag-step down ka kapag parliamentary na tayo, resounding YES yan
sa plebiscite at tigil pa ang mga coup at people power laban sayo. Try mo
lang.........

Sa Oposisyon:

Di nyo pa ba nakikita na dalawang klase lang ng tao ang nakikinig sa inyo....isa
ay bayaran na mahihirap kungdi man ay tangang mga excited na reporter na parang
naka-shabu lagi....mga praning e at naghahallucinate.

Bago man lang kayo maglunsad ng kilos laban sa administrasyon, pumili muna kayo
ng magiting at nararapat na ipapalit sa liderato ngayon. Hirap sa inyo paresign
kayo ng paresign wala naman kayo ipapalit na maayos. Advise lang galing sa isang
middle-class na syang tunay na puwersa sa likod ng lahat ng matagumpay na
People Power, magpakita muna kayo ng galing bago nyo batuhin ang
administrasyon. Wala na kaming narinig sa inyo kundi reklamo, e wala naman
kayong ginagawa kundi magreklamo....para kayong batang lagi na lang naaagawan ng
laruan.....GROW UP naman...sa isip sa salita at sa gawa.

Please lang gasgas na rin ang pagrarally nyo na katabi nyo ay mga bayaran na
mahihirap, magtayo nalang kayo ng negosyo at iempleyo ang mga rallyista para
maging productive silang mamamayan. Sige nga, pag nagrarally kayo yakapin nyo
nga at halikan yang mga kasama nyong nagrarally!! Nung People Power namin
nagyayakapan kami lahat nuon.

Wala naman mangyayari sa mga rally nyo nakakatraffic lang, kami pang
middle-class ang napeperwisyo. Di nyo kayang paghintayin ng 3 araw ang mga
rallyista nyo kasi kelangan nyo pakainin at swelduhan ang mga yan. Kung gusto
nyo tagumpay na People Power kami ang isama nyo....pero pagod na kami e, sori
ha.

Sa Military:

Alam nyo lahat tayo may problema, pati US Army may problema, 2,000 plus na
patay sa kanila sa Iraq na parang walang rason naman, pero nakita nyo ba sila
nagreklamo? Wala diba kasi professional sila na sundalo.....yan dapat ang
sundalo di nagtatanong sumusunod lang. Kasi may mga bagay na di kayang
maintindihan ng indibidwal lamang, at ang mga nakatataas lang ang nakakaintindi
ng kabuuan, kaya ito ang panuntunan ng lahat ng military ng lahat ng bansa.
Pero parang military natin yata ang pinaka-mareklamo.

Sabi nga sa Spiderman "with great power comes great responsibility".....kaya
maging spiderman kayo lahat at protektahan ang mamamayan. Sa totoo lang
natatakot kami kapag nagrereklamo kayo, kasi may baril kayo at tangke, kami
wala.

Wala ako comment sa mga mahihirap, di naman kasi sila maingay na kusa e, may
bayad ang ingay nila. Saka wala rin naman silang email.

Kaya paano na tayong mga middle-class?? Eto hanggang email nalang tayo kaya
ikalat nyo na ito at magdasal tayo na umabot ito sa mga dapat makabasa nito at
makiliti naman ang kanilang mga konsyensya.

Syet... as in syet talaga.. tumanda na naman ako. Anyways, ganyan talaga, sana lang at this stage of my life I become more wiser and mature. Sana, ma-achieve ko ang mga goals ko. We all knew him as a good comedian, but hey he also wrote some hilarious books. Currently I'm reading one of his so called masterpiece, "How Green is your mind?" and it really made me look stupid, ikaw na tumawa mag-isa sa jeep o kaya sa bus hehe..

My name is Gary Lising. Secretary of Health Juan Flavier once said that I have a very nice name -- for a disease.

I was voted as the sex symbol of Assumption College because according to them, I am the only entertainer that looks like a sex organ.

I was already a celebrity even when I was a baby. I weighed 48 pounds when I was born -- but weighed only 3 pounds after I was circumcised. I was the only abortion that lived.

I was such an ugly baby. My mother only puts the negatives of my pictures in our family album.

I was a very thin baby because I was a breastfed baby -- I was breastfed by my father.

I grew up to be a boy wonder -- everybody always looked at me and wondered.

I studied at the Ateneo de Manila where I took up B.S. Economics. That explains why up to now I still am poor as ever.

I went to the United States where I put up my own business that went bankrupt. My business was selling PX goods.

I lived in the penthouse of a 50 story building. My rent was only 200 dollars a month. It was very cheap because it was walkup -- no elevator.

I was drafted by the U.S. Army but I got exempted because of my religion -- I am a devout coward.

I came back to the Philippines because I miss the brownouts. We should be proud of this fact because in the U.S. they don't have brownouts. We are the only country that has it.

Another thing to be proud of is the merging of Erap Estrada's "PACC" with Gringo Honasan's "YOU" -- it would be known as "PACC YOU".

My father is Dr. Jose Lising, a bisexual -- every time he sees sex he buys it.

My mother Nieva Lising is a very religious woman -- she is a nun.

My parents are in the iron and steel business. My mother irons and my father steals.

I am married to Maris Paredes who up to now believes that love is really blind. I also have a son, Bugsy, he's only five years old and he already knows how to be ashamed of me.

I am also a firm believer in a lot of very serious facts of life. Let me share with you a few meaningful facts that I believe in:

I BELIEVE...that if you read too much about the bad effects of smoking -- give up reading.

I BELIEVE...that you should never make love with your eyes unless you are cockeyed.

I BELIEVE...Dick Gordon when he said that women should be put up in a pedestal -- high enough so you could look up their dresses.

I BELIEVE...Baby Boy Poblador when he said that women are the foundation of our society. I also believe him when he said that men are the ones who laid the foundation.

I BELIEVE...Mari Mar when she cried -- I saw tears running down her legs.

Ok first, about kay Pacman: Maiksi nalng to since medyo gasgas na balita na to e. Isang MALAKING CONGRATS sayo mamen, iba ka talaga!! Mas gwapo ka na ngayon kay Morales hehe.... Kidding aside, you made Filipinos proud talaga.. Payo lang, retire ka while you are at your peak form, parang ginawa ni Jordan dati sa Bulls. Wag kna gumaya sa ibang boksingero na palaos na lumalaban pa din bukod sa kawawa kna, panget pa ng memories na iiwan mo sa tao. Ah syet asang mababasa mo to hehe...

Next, about Ricardo Cepeda: last night after namen maglaro ng Yuri's revenge ni Marco ay nagkayaan na kaming umuwi, so ayun pagbaba namen nampucha ang lakas pla ng ulan, e kagagaling ko lang sa sakit (dahil sakitin ako ubo ubo...) at si Marco ay may sakit din (dahil mas sakitin sya hehe..) so di kami lumusong(?) sa ulan. Pwede akong umakyat ulit sa unit para kunin ung payong kong kahit sira e nakakasalag pa naman ng ulan pero mas madami pa sa mga taong sasakay ng MRT ung nag-aantay ng elevator, sira NA NAMAN kasi ung isa dun. So ang nangyari, nag dinner na muna kami sa foodcourt ng Bur***dy baka sakaling tumila na ung ulan pagtapos namen kumain. So un (asan na si Ricardo Cepeda?) lamon, kwento-kwento, tawanan, nood ng TV. Tapos, sa may canteen na di naman kasarapan ang tinda kaya di kami naorder dun e yun nga nakita namen si Ricardo Cepeda. Pagkaorder niya, umupo siya sa may harap namen, nung umpisa di naman sya napapansin ng mga tao (baka di na sikat ganun) pero nung may nakakakilala na haha nakakatawa ung iba pasimple pa tumingin e lalo na ung mga waitress... Nakakailang nga e kasi titingin muna kay Ricardo tapos mapapatingin saken ganun.. :-) So yun, after a while nagdecide na din kaming umalis kasi mamaya Wow Mali un e, e pucha asa likuran nya lang kami yoko ata mapaTV ng time na un panget ng suot ko hehe...

Last but definitely not the least, MMDA traffic aides: Syempre tumila na nga ung ulan, so umuwi na kami. I took the Ayala route not the usual na dinadaan ko kasi alam ko bahain dun e. So ayun, hirap sumakay ng bus pero nakasakay din. Habang binabaybay ng bus ang malulupit na pink fences sa may Ayala-SM e may kumatok na MMDA TRAFFIC AID. Ano pa, e di syempre nangongotong.. Tang*n* talaga! Nagbigay naman ung konduktor, as I've heard 40 Php binigay niya. After several meters plang nakakalagpas, meron na namang nakatok na MMDA TRAFFIC AID. Nampucha talaga!! Sabi ng driver dun sa MMDA TRAFFIC AID na kabibigay lang dun sa isang kasama niya. Di pumayag, tapos nagalit pa, hiningi ung lisensya nung driver. So to the rescue naman ung kundoktor sa kanya, kinausap ung MMDA TRAFFIC AID. So un, nagkaayos, bumiyahe na ulit kame. Habang naniningil ung konduktor na pasahe, ayun narinig ko kung magkano nya naayos ung paksyet na MMDA TRAFFIC AID na un. Php100 pesos! Langya talaga ginagawa nilang gatasan ung mga bus driver/conductor. Tsaka pucha ang kakapal ng mukha nila, kahit may nakakakita sa kanilang mga tao tuloy pa rin sila sa pangongotong. May balak yatang magsilabas sa TV tong mga to e. Sarap pikturan (lowbat ako kainis) at ipadala sa Tulfo brothers para maaksyonan hehe.. Kaya siguro mainit si Mayor Binay sa MMDA e gawa ng mga gaya nito e.

Ok start. First weird habit: Nagdadasal bago matulog at bago kumain.. Ewan naging habit ko na to e. Di kapani-paniwala no? Kaya nga weird e pati ako nawe-weirdohan minsan hehe.

Second weird habit: preferred matulog ng nakadapa habang yakap2x ang unan.. Ewan, nadevelop ko na to kasi sabi ng mga nakakatabi ko malakas daw ako mag-snore e.. Cgro naman with this style di na ko makakasnore hehe..

3rd weird habit: Matagal ako sa banyo sa umaga. Kakaiba kasi kadalasan pag lalake mabilis lang dapat db? The reason is, nagdadala ako ng babasahin habang nagba-"bank" kaya cgro ko napapatagal at banas na banas na ung susunod saken.

4th: I drink water during inuman sessions.. Kasi nabasa ko na nade-dehydrate tayo pag nainom ng alcohol, and yun yung cause ng hangover the next day. So dapat inom ng madaming tubig. Proven na to, promise.

5th: Certified coffeeholic ako..

im not feeling well today. i'm still coughing and now I got colds. damn the weather. Hope I'll feel well soon. Check out this link, its hilarious. :-)

I became concerned about Imelda Papin's health right after I've watched the news about her on a popular news show, TV patrol. Is she ok now? I hope she is, and please Ma'am, take care huh.. I don't wanna hear another news like that, it sucks. It's not that I'm taking it against her, but I found this news useless and too shallow. So what if she slipped on her bathroom? did she died? she didn't even got any major injury i guess. So please stop featuring this kind of stuff, they're not worth watching. You got more important issues to tackle, inform the people about it. Ever heard of such news, "Aktres, maitim ang kuyukot", "Jennylin and Mark break na" and others. Whoa, will my world stop because of this matters? :-)

Are you hooked-up with "Jewel in the palace" fever? Well, I do. Over the weekend, I watched the last two DVD's of it, i think that's more or less 20 episodes. The ending? It's a happy one. :-)

Just got this itch to update my blog because my mind ceased functioning even though I still got lots to do :-) So anyways, today is friday, So I expect we will have another round(s) of SML before goung home lolz.. I have skipped my gym workouts for a week because I'm having a hard time treating my cough. If next week it still persists, I will consult a doctor about it. Hopefully nothing serious, its just because of the weather :-)

I made a boo-boo which I think if I had done on another company I'll be fired right away hehe...
I received a call from my previous PM's company, and thank Smart I can't understand what she is saying. So I told her that I will make a return call, but I forget her name so I have to ask my former PM about it. BUt, I've used our support email account which is activated by most of the engineers in here even our boss in SF. So the bottom line is, my current PM discovered about it and asked me to explain. I just took the issue lightly and told her that I just did that because I don't know how to reject my former boss but definitely I don't have any intention to seriously consider that job. I think she believed me, and hopefully she did :-)

Question: If someone told you that you are a "sweet talker" (in tagalog, 'bolero'.. a way to make it worth appealing to masses just like "sweet potato"(kamote) ) aren't you get offended even though you are actually telling the truth? Nah, maybe I am one, but who cares, That's the way I express myself. I just want to tell you this.. Everything I've said, I mean it, if you don't believe it then its your call. I'm just saying what my heart tell me.

Happy New Year! Hope another year cheers and happiness is ahead of us. Year 2005 was good for me, I think I matured fair enough, personally and career wise. Hopefully this year will be better because according to the chinese zodiac its my year, year of the dog!! So what's with people born under this sign?

nine days to go...

As my title says, nine days to go... ayan pasko na naman. Bakit ganun, di ako kasing thrilled compared to last year. Anyways, kelangan ko na pala mamili ng gifts para sa mga inaanak at pamangkins. Yung adults, pwede pass muna hehe...

Last night sa gym, habang ng in-between rest ako sa mga sets, nakipagkwentuhan ako sa gym instructor. Wla lang kung anu-ano lang, tas bigla namen napag-usapan yung about salary. As I heard ung salary niya, napaisip ako is it enough for a 29-year old guy with 1 daughter? Syet napakamareklamo ko pa naman sa salary ko tapos may mas malala pa pala saken.. So I think I should be thankful na rin with my situation. But this doesn't mean na I should be satisfied with it, because once I did wala ng motivation para saken to strive more. Siguro babawas-bawasan ko nalang yung pagiging mareklamo ko hehe..

It's been a while is I last updated this journal. Reasons? It only falls on two: Either sobrang busy o sobrang tinatamad ako. Ayun. So ngayon medyo sinipag gawa na din siguro ng madalas na pag lurk lalo na sa blog ni cofibin :-)

I have no particular stories to tell, just want to share my experiences sa mga nagdaang mga araw.. :-)

Kasi, medyo gumagalaw na yung projects assigned to me, ung iba natapos na, ung iba medyo as in medyo lang talaga, baby steps ganun. Pero sabagay mabuti na yun kesa naman hindi. Sabi nga ni Confucius di ba, "It does not matter how slow you go so long as you don't stop." The problem is, sabay-sabay kasi ung projects, of the same priority, at halos pressured sa deadline lahat. It's tough, pero I know at the end of the day, alam ko na I did my best to accomplish it.

Medyo nakikita ko na yung result ng pag-gym ko, yezzz!!! ok naman, konting tiis pa, lalo ngayon X'mas season pa.

Bad

Nagresign na si Kukote sa Di**** although lagi pa rin siyang nandito dahil may outsource proj kagad sya (ang galing syet! pag ako kaya nagresign ganito din?) .

Lapit na X'Mas!! Syet!! Pasko. Regalo. Pera.Noche Buena. Exchange gift. Eto ang season na parang masayang parang hindi rin, depende na din kung gaano kalalim ang resources mo, ilan inaanak mo at kung gaano ka kafriendly.

I got my braces adjusted yesterday and today, damn, is the worst day of my life in braces :-)
Although the pain is tolerable, I can't chew solid food. I had 3 packs of Nesvita for breakfast and according to BJ I should ready myself and the tissue paper later for violent volcanic eruptions :-)

I have no subject in mind but I have this urge to update my blog so I'll just feature random thoughts today. Here it goes:

When I feel bored, I always look at this pictures. It always make me laugh:-)

Riding jeepneys is not uncommon to us, but sometimes its annoying when someone asks you to hand his payment to the driver and didn't even bother to say "thanks" or even give a nod just to acknowledge the good deed you have done. Is this action our duty as a jeepney riders or are we doing favor to other passengers? I don't mind saying "thanks" when done the same thing, I wonder why others have this "bossy attitude" :-)

NBA season starts in a couple of days yahoo!!! Bad thing is, we changed our cable TV service and I think Solar Sports is not available on our new provider. So its either I watch reply games on local channels or I just visit the nba site more often :-) Who do you think will be the champion this season? My bold prediction, given the core players are healthy, Detroit Pistons will take the crown this year. I'm also looking forward on watching the Golden State Warriors , Baron Davis + Jason Richardson=Dunk Contest :-)

I decided not to avail my leaves for November 2 and 3 because I want to work on my current projects. I'll just use them on December :-)

Nina Alive and Kicking At Hard Rock Cafe

Last night we went at Hard rock cafe to watch nina perform live. I'm with Marhgil, Marco and our girlfriends(except marhgil, claiming he'll just snatch one at the venue). We arrived at the venue 730pm and since we went straight from the office we haven't had our dinner yet. Since I don't like the taste of hardRock's food (read between the lines please, "Je veux économiser mon argent précieux!!") we have to go out to have dinner. The staff won't allow us to do so we have to eat by batch :-).

Fast Forward... 9:30pm. This is the supposed to be start of the show, but as Filipinos we are very accustomed to this. We were joking that maybe they will just play clips of Nina in concert at the wall screen since it was not indicated on the banners outside that she will perform live.Stupid assumptions though. A few more ticks of the clock, and finally the DJ officially announced the start of the show. Nina just came out of nowhere, singing a cut from her Nina Live Album, Stay (with me). She was awesome, not to mention hot. As expected, most of the songs she sang came from the live album with the exception of "I believe I can fly" and medley of Hale's "The day you said goodnight" (I liked her version more than the original :-) ) and Cueshe's "Stay". We were very much satisfied with her stunning performance.

Closing remarks... Any idea where the name "Hard Rock Cafe" came from? According to the Washington Times (7/2/97), when a Virginia High School student exposed mice to hard rock music 10 hours a day for three weeks, their ability to navigate a maze they already knew decreased significantly. A control group, exposed to classical music, actually improved their maze time. The experiment was cut short because the hardrock mice ate each other. My version is, if you go to Hard Rock Cafe and you're not "ready", you will end up banging your head to any hard rock you will see soon after you've paid the bills :-)

Overw8 ... Body Mass Index .... Argh!!!

Yesterday me and Marco went to Medicard's clinic at Dela Costa St. to have our annual physical exam. I was nervous because I still remember the last time I have this medical checkup for employment purposes the doctor asked me to get naked and do weird positions and actions that I don't want to elaborate anymore. :-)

On our way to the clinic, I suddenly lost my sense of direction and argh!! we got lost. My fault, because I wasn't listening when my boss was giving me the instructions on how to go there. But through patience and PR we were able to find it.

Inside the clinic, the atmosphere is very, very nice. The nurses/physicians are very approchable unlike in most public hospitals wherein you need to beg for their mercy in order for you or your sicked relative to get attended. The real reason for this difference is very obvious: money. And then a shocking revelation happened. I am OVERWEIGHT!!! Actually I'm not that surprised since I already knew my BMI (Body Mass Index) because the gym where I do my workouts posted a chart about that. So I guess I need to emphasize more on my diet :(

It was a loooong weekend for me. Last Friday night we scheduled a basketball game and guess what happened? I got my lateral miniscus injured again, merely got in trouble with the other guys on another court (still thinking what the heck are they thinking...) and muscle pains all over my body. Nice prize for doing what I like to do most.

After the game me, BJ, Marco and Marhgil decided to go to Batangas and visit the wake of Kukote's "ang tiyo"(uncle). We made a stop at a gasoline station along south super hi-way to have our dinner which mostly composed of green salads and sandwiches (Diet spirit!!). After that we went back to the road and resumed our journey and it was great; cool sounds (except the Shaider theme hehe!!), neverending ghost stories as we pass thru a poorly lighted zigzag road and a lot of interesting conversations happened inside Kukote's Toyota Altis. After almost 2 hours we arrived at Kukote's house. As we take a look on his uncle's remains, I suddenly remembered my grandmother who just passed away last June. It's really hard to lose someone very close to you :-(

Since we have nothing to do but to sit there and bum, we played pusoy dos until someone felt sleepy(whodahell is he?) and convinced the others to sleep too and wakeup 6am sharp then go home. Unfortunately, we woke up at 8am :-) We went home, then I slept the whole day.

Saturday, 7pm. I remembered that this day is "girlfriend's day" (not girlfriends day) so I immediately got off my bed, took a quick shower then fixed myself. I called her and asked her what she's doing and if she want to watch a movie. We've met, had dinner then went to glorietta 4. We originally plan to watch both "The 40 year old virgin" and "Dubai" but due to schedule conflict its not possible to do so. So we've decided to watch "The 40 Year old virgin" which stars Steve Carrell and it is absolutely hilarious.. The Php130 ticket price is worth spending.

Sunday, 3pm. Girlfriend's day 2 (not Girlfriend 2 day). We went to SM Bicutan to pay our phone bills and to window shop before going to a 6pm mass in Makati. We passed through to the perfume section and felt the urge to try new scents and brands. She asked me what brand I prefer to buy and I said "Acqua di Gio" since I badly want to have another bottle of that perfume. But I lost interest with that perfume that time because the attending store clerk is such an asshole and have no plans of entertaining us for reasons he only knows (Maybe I don't look like I have the money to buy it...) . So we moved to the next booth and greated by the clerk with a warm welcome then he displayed the best sellers in front of us. I've tried most of it before so actually none of the perfumes captured my interest until I have smelled this perfume which I will not reveal the name because I want to smell unique all the time :-). Negotations followed between my girl and the clerk which confused me.. I want the perfume, but I will not buy it that time because I don't have the money yet.. Until she told me that she will be the one to pay for it.. A gift for no reason at all..Whoa!! That's a real shocker for me, since I'm not comfortable of receiving gifts from her because its not proper. But she insisted, so I just let her do so. Anyway I'm not that hard to convince :-) So the deal was closed. If you could only see the face of the clerk from the Acqua Di Gio booth. Loser!! Lesson here is: Never judge a person by his/her looks. Maybe he just live across the street, and find it stupid to dress up anymore. :-)

About the title, it is not related to my post, but this made me laugh last week.

Last Saturday, after months of planning (ganun kahirap sila yayain) ay lumabas kaming ilan sa magto-tropa ng highschool. Wala na kasi kaming contact sa iba e.. Mga artistahin na hirap na yayain hehehe... So yun, kwentuhang umaatikabo, inom, tawanan hahaha.... Dami na ding nagbago, nagka-aminan ng sikreto, nagkulitan at syempre kinawawa ako sa pamamagitan ng pagyurak sa pagkatao ko.. Di ako makabawi kasama ko kasi ang bebe ko at wla akong laban sa kanila argh... Eto lang naobserbahan ko sa kanila:

Jay (Paje)- Hehe bilib ako, parang happy go lucky pa din kahit mag-dadalawa na ang anak. Pero deep inside alam ko na responsible father to. Husband ewan ko lang nyahahaha...

Manuel (Manoy)- Syet napakatahimik at misteryoso pa rin sa personal pero pag sa YM kala mo si Xerex Xaviera kausap mo hahaha!!!

Chris - kakaiba... I admire the way he takes life easily. Parang walang pressure. Ayun komedyante pa rin ng grupo, pero may seriousness side na din na dati ay wala.

Sa inyo guys, goodluck sa career and till we meet again.. Next month ata yung next meet natin hehe.. Noy, kung ano man problema mo mag-share ka naman wag mo sarilinin hehehe.. What are friends for?

Kung kayo ay member ng yahoo groups ng bobongpinoy, malamang nakita nyo na ang thread na ito. Ito ay tungkol sa problema sa kakulangan (kulang, sira) sa facilities ng mahal naming alma mater, PUP of course. Isang post dito ang nakatawag talaga sa attention ko, kasi usuallly observer mode lang ako sa group na to, pero itong thread na to ewan ko ba pinatulan ko kasi syempre galing ako dito e. Isang group member ang naglitanya ng mga problema ng school... Nagbabahang 6th floor, mabahong cr, mabahong salamin sa cr, panay absent na teacher, 1:n na ratio sa computer and a lot more na di ko na maalala. Since hindi ako mapakali hangga't di ko nasasabi ung opinyon ko, nagpost ako dito for the first time.. Eto ung excerpts sa post ko:

We should be thankful na may university na nandyan to give us QUALITY EDUCATION even with a very limited resources. So pre instead of complaining you should help yourself para pag successful at mayaman ka na, help the university.

Ayun.. After ko mag-post gumaan na loob ko.. Pero nag-retaliate pa ung sinagot ko sa post na yan tsaka may mga taga UP pa na nakisali kesyo we are using ung monicker nila (Peyups) at sabay banat na mas magagaling at matatalino sila.. Hay..Bukod sa Out of the topic na, nakakainis pa kasi nangdo-downsize sila ng ibang tao.. Pero hindi ko na sila pinatulan, OA na e tsaka natauhan ako sa quote na to: "Never argue with idiots, they'll take you down to their level and beat you with experience." Basta ako thankful na may school kagaya ng PUP, or else siguro isa na din ako sa mga pasanin ng gobyerno ngayon.

Nalilito ako.. basta.. May gusto akong gawin, a though decision to make.

Our COO asked me to give her a copy of my latest resume on Monday. Puzzled, I asked why... She said it will be for accreditation purposes since PLDT require us to submit resumes of 3 IT people working on our company. What a coincidence.. Kasi binabalak ko na talaga mag update ng resume e, ngayon magiging legal pa.. meaning makakapag-update ako ng resume WITHIN OFFICE HOURS ng wlang sisita sakin o wala akong pagtataguan.. Hahahaha!!! That's Life.

Etong week na ito ay kakaiba.. Sa more than a year ko sa DiaVox ngayon ko lang na-experience ito... WALA AKONG GINAGAWA FOR TWO DAYS!! Syet noon halos nalilito nako sa dami ng ginagawa ngayon wla kahit isa.. Nangyayari din pla un hehe.. Sana sa lunes meron na kakatamad din pla wlang ginagawa.

Napasali na din ako sa Prepaid Pinoy reloading business ni Marhgil. Nagtry kami ng 1000 worth of credits tas pinaretail ko sa bebe ko since di naman sya kasing-BUSY ko hehe.. Ayun, hit ata.. paubos na ung credits in less than two days. Maganda bang business? Nakakalibang.. :D

Sa umaga pagdating nyo sa office nagta-trabaho na ba kagad kayo? Ows c'mon syempre hindi pa no? Ako nga usually after lunch pa mag-start hehe... Usually, eto ginagawa ko early in the morning:

Magkakape - kahit nagbreakfast nako sa bahay Ewan ko ba parang kulang araw ko hangga't di ako nakaka 3 cups ng kape. Tsaka palipas oras na din.
Check official mails - para malaman ko kung may madadagdag sa nakaskedyul kong gagawin sa araw na un.
Check unofficial mails - to keep in touch with Lina, BobongPinoy and ung so called "circle of friends", mga taong ini-email na ata lahat ng nasa address book nila ng kung anu-ano: chain letters, porn pics (eto ok lang hahaha!!), kwento-kwento, dasal, donations, sari-saring IQ tests (eto ok, kakachallenge lalo n sa kagaya kong mababa ang IQ) at marami pa.
visit NBA website - basketball fanatic ako e, lalo na NBA. So I make sure na alam ko ung latest news, trades, etc para cool.
visit Marhgil's Kukote - ang blogsite ng pamosong si Marhgil, funny yet educational. Lahat ng post may sense (meron nga ba? haha!!)
visit Shortarmguy - pucha nung unang visit ko dito naubos ata ung isang araw ko kakabrowse.. Nakakatawa talaga e. Pero usually once a week lang ang update niya.
visit Inq7.net, kahit nakanood nako ng unang hirit
Maghahanap ng makaka-chat sa YM at makikipagkulitan hanggang mag lunch.
Mang-aasar ng kaopismate.

Last Sunday, nahiritan ako ng aking inay na mag-grocery. Since ipinaglaba niya naman ako ng damit ko for two weeks, pumayag ako. So punta kami ng landmark, e under renovation kakatamad so nagdecide kami na lumipat sa SM Makati. Along da way, nakakita ng sandals sa Rusty Lopez, nagpabili ako naman parang nahypnotize na sumusunod lang hehe.. Pagdating namen ng SM, nakita ko un signages ni Nina(Live!). Tapos na ata ung mini-concert, autograph signing nlang. Since matagal ko ng gustong makita si Nina sa personal (cute kasi e mahilig ako sa maliliit e), naki-usyoso ako. Ayun nakita ko rin siya in-person, pucha ang ganda!!!! Syet na-inlab na naman ata ako... Pero yoko lang ung makeup niya, masyado ng makapal mukha na syang japanese doll hehe.. Pipila sana ako for authograph kaso wala naman akong dalang cd o poster o sanitary napkin nya e kaya hindi nlang.. Di ko rin cya nakunan ng pic kasi lowtech ung camera ng 6230 e madi-dissappoint lang ako. So nagkasya nlang ako sa pagtitig sa cute niyang mukha hehe..

Tapos sa loob ng hypermart, unfortunately nakita ko ung 1 classmate ko nung highschool. Ayun, kwentu-kwento, balita.. Hanggang sa nalaman ko nlang na may chismis pla na kumakalat tungkol sakin/samen ng bebe ko. Nabalitaan niya DAW nung umattend cla ng bday ng isa pa nameng classmate. FUCKin' syet naman, kung wla kayong magawa make fun of yourselves ha wag nyo kami idamay.. Ang pagchi-chismis para sa mga matatanda lang yan.. Kung nainggit kayo sakin/samen, well mamatay kayo sa inggit hehehe... Wala akong idea kung kanino nag-start ung chismis... pero malamang bitter lang un haha!!!

Today marks my 4th day here in Mahe, Seychelles. Sobrang ang pressure sa trabaho, so decided to take some time off and interview myself. Magandang stress reliever to pero wag dadalasan baka matuluyan hehe... Here's the transcript of the conversation between me and myself.

Int : So how do you find Seychelles?
kiko: hOokey!!.. ganda daming beach. pero di ko pa na-eexplore masyado kasi hotel->Airtel Office->Site->hotel lang ang routine ko e.

Int : Ah ganun ba. So kamusta trabaho?
kiko: Great! wlang license ung napaka vital na software ng system namen. Expired na din ung trial version kaya wla talaga akong magawa. One more thing, the hell with this licensing. Di naman kami tinuruan on how to do it e. Ung document on licensing di pa applicable kasi its meant for a different version. Muntik ko na ngang i-format ung serve e sa sobrang inis at taranta ko.. Buti nlang medyo nahimasmasan ako nung nakakain me ng maanghang nung naglunch kame hehe... Ano pa ba? Ung voicemail, nautot muna bago nasagot. Di ko alam kung matatawa ako o maiinis e.. Basta madami pa.

Int : Wow lufet na pla ng mga nae-encounter mo ah.. Kamusta naman mga kasama mo?
kiko: Hehe ok naman.. Halu-halo ung races nila. At di rin nila ako maaasar na negro dito kasi ang puti ko pla dito hahaha!!! May mga nagmumura din ang B.O. sa baho, as in bumabaliktad ung sikmura ko. There is one guy pa nga na kamukha ni Jovit Moya, naka face mask cia lagi. Di ko alam kung dahil ba un sa naglilinis cya ng servers o kasi naamoy niya din ung sarili niya. In fairness mabait cya kabatakan ko nga yun e.. Ung ka-tandem ko from AirTel, his name is Bryan Gonzalves(lufet ng last name!!) seems to be always in a hurry. Siguro kasi sanay siya sa buhay sa London. Yoko lang nung habit nya ng paggamit ng celfone while driving. Dami pa namang curves ng kalye kasi pinatag na bundok lang un e.. Pucha e pano kung mabangga kame? Buti sana kung cya lang madidisgrasya d ba? Meron ding staff sa AirTel, pangalan niya c Tanya. So nag imagine ako na ung Tanyang un kamukha ni Tanya ng red Alert(Yuri). Pucha, kamukha nga ni Tanya, pag nabaril ng Mirage Tank. May nakausap na din ako na pinoy working for a cable company here. Tapos taga Legazpi pa cya, lapit lang sa bayan ng nanay ko. One of this days daw lalabas kami.. Sana nga.

Int : Wala ka bang nami-miss?
Kiko: (hindi sumagot.. )

Int : Ok ka lang ba?
Kiko: Yeah. Meron syempre.. Yung mga mahal ko sa buhay. My wifey, family, friends, pets, Lonestar Ultra, sisig, WWE RAW, replay na NBA games, Eat Bulaga.

Int : I see. So what do you expect when came back to the Philippines?
Kiko: Sa work, dalawa lang yan. Pag successful, good shot ako kay old man. Pag failed, Nada!(expression ni old guy according to Marco pag dissapointed cya). Sa bahay, malamang ung nakakaiyak na phone bill ko. I'll make sure na mare-reimburse ko ung mga official (sama na din unofficial) calls/text ko.

Shet! After almost eternity, tuloy na tuloy na YATA ung installation ko sa Mahe Island, Seychelles (neverheard ba? visit this link.. ). Bakit ko nasabing matutuloy? hehe.. Iba na yung kaba ko e, unlike nung unang schedule niya, kahit alam kong malapit na parang wlalang tamo na-cancel tuloy...

Di ako sure kung kinakabahan o excited lang ako. Pero one thing is for sure, I'll do my best to accomplish the tasks assigned to me the and the same time enjoy the place.. Sabi nga sa website nila, its a "Paradise on Earth". Once I come back, post ko lahat ng pics na makukuha ko dun hehe...

Haaayy.. First non-image post ko 'to, tragic pa.. My grandmother, Maxima Macapagal, or simply "Lola Ima" passed away last night. Hirap, first time ko namatayan ng sobrang close sakin. Nung una di ako naniniwala, vinerify kpa. Pero nung sure na, wow, tulala talaga ako. Ganun pla feeling nun no, para kang biglang naging kawawa na feeling mo may galit sa'yo ang diyos. It took a while bago ako nakapag isip-isip. Nasabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, siguro its for her good na din yun para di na sya maghihirap. Ang dami kong nadidinig na stories about her before she died, ung tipong nakakadepress talaga na para bang di siya satisfied sa mga last days niya sa mundong ibabaw. If only I know na malapit na siyang kunin ni Lord, e di sana.. ganito, ganun ginawa ko. Pero reality check, di natin alam exactly kung kelan tayo susunduin e. Tama din ung saying na mare-realize mo lang ung worth ng isang tao pag wla na siya. Depressing, but true. Anu-ano ma mi-miss ko sa lola ko ngayong wla na siya, eto:

Wala ng magbabawal sakin tumapat sa electric fan pagkatapos magbasketball.

Noong mahilig pa siyang manood ng tv, lagi niyang dala-dala ung remote control. Naiinis kasi yun kapag laging nililipat sa ibang channel e hehe...
Tissue rolls, Johnson's band-aid alcohol, Australian Oats, Bear Brand -> laging kasama sa listahan ng pinabibili nya.
Wala ng magsasabi sakin/samen ni peach ng "Wag muna kayong mag-aasawa ha!". Wla ding nangyari sinuway din namen hehe..
Saging -> hilig niya dito
Banana Q -> favorite meryenda namen nung college pako at tambay pa sa bahay niya.
Siya ang nagpush sameng magkapatid na mag-aral mag rosary. Simpleng bagay no, pero proud ako. At least kahit di ako ganun ka bait marunong akong magdasal hehe...
At madami pa... :(

I'll miss you lola, wag ka mag-alala ung mga tinuro mong values/lessons samin will remain intact. Maswerte sila Ron2x at Mimi at least nakasama ka nila bago ka man lang pumanaw. Malas ng magiging baby ko kasi di ka na nila makikilala. We will pray for you, sana pagdasal mo din kami. You will always be not just in my memory but also in my heart. Rest in peace.
